Ministry of Health and Environment

The Ministry of Health and Environment (MOHE) is the pre-eminent Government organization mandated to care for the nation’s health and to ensure that Jamaicans have a clean environment.

The Ministry of Health and Environment and the JSIF collaborated to undertake Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Asset based mapping in June 2006. However, there is currently no signed institutional agreement between JSIF and the MOHE.

Technical assistance regarding specific projects such as health centres is received by the JSIF from the Ministry. In addition, a no objection has to be received from the Ministry for the work to be done.

Under the Emergency Recovery Project (ERP), a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the JSIF and MOHE for the implementation of activities to be funded by this Agreement.
