Ground has been broken for a $124-million cold storage facility at the greenhouse cluster in Content, Kirkvine, Manchester, which is expected to benefit more than 1,500 farmers and producers.

The initiative is being implemented by the Government of Jamaica through the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) under its Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) II.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, officially opened the new $50-million Adelphi Health Centre in St. James, on October 17.

The new 4,262 square-foot building was funded under the Poverty Reduction Programme (PRP), implemented by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) and funded by the European Union (EU).

As Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton pushes ahead with efforts to ensure that Jamaicans are not overly uncomfortable while in line to access health care at State-run facilities, he is mulling adding air conditioning to the waiting area at Adelphi Health Centre in St James.

Construction of the Adelphi Health Centre was funded through the European Union’s Poverty Reduction Programme; the implementation agency was the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF).
