Central Village Gets Multi-Purpose Centre

World Bank Representative in Jamaica, Giorgio Valentini (2nd right), assists Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) Managing Director, Scarlette Gillings (3rd left) to unveil a commemorative plaque during Thursday’s (June 26) symbolic opening of the Central Village Multi-Purpose Centre in St. Catherine. The facility was constructed by JSIF on land provided by Jamaica Red Cross, at a cost of $121.9 million. Financing was provided under JSIF’s World Bank-funded Inner City Basic Services Project (ICBSP), and by residents of Central Village.
