Ministry of Transport and Works

The Ministry of Transport and Works' primary responsibility is the country’s land, marine and air transport as well as the main road network, including bridges, drains, gullies, embankments and other such infrastructure. The Ministry has regulatory responsibility for the safety of all modes of transportation, whether publicly or privately operated.

There is currently no signed institutional agreement between JSIF and the Ministry of Transport and Works. Technical assistance regarding specific projects such as roads is received by the JSIF from the Ministry. In addition, a no objection has to be received from the Ministry for the work to be done.

A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed under the Hurricane Dean Emergency Relief Loan Agreement  for the implementation of activities to be funded by this Agreement.
