Citizens Welcome Newly Refurbished Franklyn Town Police Station

The Ribbon-Cutting Exercise of the newly rehabilitated Franklyn Town Police Station took place recently at the handing-over ceremony. Participating in the exercise were; the Honourable Horace Chang, Deputy Prime Minister of Jamaica & Minister of National Security, Honourable Zavia Mayne, Minister-Of-State – Ministry of National Security, Courtney Williams, Permanent Secretary – Ministry of National Security, Major General Antony Anderson, Commissioner of Police, Dr. Wayne Henry- Chairman of the JSIF, Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union to Jamaica, Omar Sweeney, Managing Director of JSIF, Donovan Williams, Member of Parliament – Central Kingston, Assistant Commissioner of Police Donovan Graham and Superintendent of Police Tomielee Chambers. The Franklyn Town Police Station was rehabilitated under the Poverty Reduction Programme (PRP), which was implemented by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund through grant funding from the European Union.

The  Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson joined other government officials at the official handing-over ceremony of the newly refurbished Franklyn Town Police Station. 

During his address to the Franklyn Town residents and the local police, Major General Anderson expressed his continued support for projects like these. The refurbishing of the Franklyn Town Police Station was facilitated by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund and the European Union. According to Anderson, this latest project was in keeping with the JCF’s vision of having all police stations rebuilt or refurbished to provide modern, fit-for-purpose spaces for the policemen and women of the Constabulary as well as the people they serve.
