Sub-Project Menu
Initially, sub-projects were primarily small-scale infrastructure such as construction or rehabilitation of basic schools, farm feeder
roads, community water systems, etc. While these still form a significant part of JSIF’s menu, there has been an evolution towards
more complex integrated projects (such as multiple infrastructure works in volatile communities), support to social interventions
(such as parenting, conflict resolution, etc) to accompany infrastructure projects, and socio-economic initiatives including small
and micro-enterprise support in agriculture and community tourism. Of increasing importance are interventions supporting
alternative livelihoods/entrepreneurship, employability and academic achievement.
