JSIF, an integral component of Government’s poverty
alleviation strategy since 1996, had been commanding
national attention with its above-board performance.
In 2010, the Fund received a Special Award from the Gleaner for
its consistent contribution to community development.
As of June 2010, JSIF had approved 1,358 sub-projects for
implementation and of this number 975 have been completed
impacting some 1.6 million Jamaicans islandwide.
