He is experienced in implementing
development projects in the
socio-economic context and has
professional exposure in Eastern
Europe, South & Central America
as well as North America. He has a
multidisciplinary background including
social integration and sustainable
development practices. Prior to his
appointment as the Managing Director
of the Jamaica Social Investment Fund,
Mr. Sweeney served at the Jamaica
Public Service Company (JPS) as a
Senior Executive, with responsibility
for Energy Delivery for Kingston, St.
Andrew and Eastern Jamaica. Prior to
that, he held the posts of Programme
Director of the Community Renewal
Programme at the Planning Institute of
Jamaica (PIOJ), and General Manager,
for Technical Services at the Jamaica
Social Investment Fund. He is also
a past President of the Jamaica
Institution of Engineers (JIE).
Mr. Sweeney has previously sat
on the National Spatial Planning
Committee, was a Board Member of
the NSWMA, and a Sector member of
the National Contracts Committee.
