The rehabilitation project forms part of several infrastructure projects of the JSIF’s Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project, which seeks to enhance Jamaica’s climate change resilience.
The one-kilometre project was implemented by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) and funded by the World Bank to the tune of $1.3 billion.
The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the World Bank towards the cost of the SECOND RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INTITIATIVE (REDI II) PROJECT. The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to cover payments under the following contract:
REDI II- Income Generation Small Grants for Women and Youth Project: Equipping and Input – Hardware and Water Tank supplies (#73732)
The community of Salt Spring in St. James now has a community park where residents can gather for recreation, physical activity and to socialise in a pleasant atmosphere.
The green space was provided by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) at a cost of $4 million under the agency’s Integrated Community Development Project II (ICDP II).
