GRANGE HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL EXPANSION – WESTMORELAND - (#073604) AND ALBION PRIMARY SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION BLOCK CONSTRUCTION – MANCHESTER (#073679) INVITATION FOR BID

The Government of Jamaica (GOJ) has received funding from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in the amount of US$8,948,000 towards the cost of the Basic Needs Trust Fund Ninth Cycle (BNTF 9). The Jamaica Social Investment Fund as the implementing agency intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to cover payments under contracts for which this invitation is issued. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOJ and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement.  The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.  No party other than GOJ shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.The Project is being implemented by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund.  The Jamaica Social Investment Fund has contracted a Consultant who will provide design and supervision services for the Project activities.

  1. The Jamaica Social Investment Fund, the Executing Agency, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Grange Hill Primary School Expansion — Westmoreland (#073604)

 The works include but are not limited to the following: the design and construction of an 8-classroom block with bathrooms and associated tertiary sewer system. The project will also involve establishing an additional room with a partitioned guidance Counselor Office and sickbay. The methodology will be reinforced concrete quick-erect building solutions to address these needs. The new block will need to be termite treated. The design build contractor will be expected to provide design services, work with the Consultants to establish design, facilitate a Consultant’s design, review of the proposed design completed, make submission to the external agency for  approval and undertake the necessary civil works for the project. Project period is Sixteen  (16) months. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Four Hundred and Eight Four thousand Jamaican Dollars (J$484,000.00).

The methodology will be reinforced concrete quick-erect building solutions to address these needs. The new block will need to be termite treated. The design build contractor will be expected to provide design services, work with the Consultants to establish design, facilitate a Consultant’s design, review of the proposed design completed, make submission to the external agency for approval and undertake the necessary civil works for the project . Project period is sixteen (16) months. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Two Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (J$200,000.00).
