This project involves the upgrading of the Hartland Basic School to provide improved sanitary facilities in the form of a new bathroom block with two toilets for the girls and one toilet and a urinal for the boys, storage cupboards in the kitchen, a sick bay, a designated play and a new fence erected around the school. In addition, repairs will be carried out on the roof of the school, including replaci the section over the veranda which was blown off during Hurricane Ivan. Implementation of this project will benefit 24 students 1 teacher and the Heart trainee. In addition, the following items of furniture and equipment will be provided:
- 1 teachers' desk
- 1 teachers' chair
- 1 metal cabinet
- 1 cot for the sick bay
- 1 Jungle Gym
- 1 Swing
- 1 See-saw
- 1 Slide
- 1 Sandpit

Community Contribution
Description: |
The community's contribution will include:
- demolition of existing toilet and kitchen structures
- storage of equipment and materials on site for the duration of the project.
- bushing/clearance of site prior to construction
- cleaning up of site after completion of the project
- costs incurred for the signing and handing over ceremonies
- fees to connect new sanitary facility to water main
- Employment coordinator
- discounted labour
- landscaping after construction is completed
