Town of Richmond Hill

The Town of Richmond Hill was the first municipality in Ontario to have its entire Engineering & Public Works Department registered to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 14001 standard in December 2006.

 

The primary responsibilities of the Engineering & Public Works Department include: 

  • garbage & recycling
  • local road reconstruction
  • road & sidewalk snow clearing
  • water distribution
  • storm and sanitary sewers
  • environmental programmes

The Town’s vision is to be an environmentally sustainable community. By developing a strategy to encourage stewardship of Richmond Hill’s air, water and land resources, the Town is committed to enhancing a healthy and safe community.

 

There is a signed mentorship agreement between the Town of Richmond Hill and JSIF.
