The incumbent will be required to: Perform GIS applications development to support GIS activities within the JSIF; defining user needs; developing customised GIS applications for internal and external clients; writing programs; ensuring proper installation, testing, and operation of GIS applications; reviewing and interpreting processes; working with coordinate transformations, local co-ordinate system and projections; developing web-enabled GIS applications; developing data visualisation tools; conducting training in GIS applications.

The individual selected will have:

• A first degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of Visual Basic 6 and .Net programming experience,

• 3 years SQL Server Database programming experience.

• Competence in the development and implementation of n-tier desktop and web service applications in the Windows environment with relational database, Visual Basic, .Net, Crystal Designer and XML

Key responsibilities of the Quality Analyst include:

• Identifying, investigating, reporting, and tracking defects and anomalies in software systems,

• Assisting with the resolution of current system and application problems referred from the Help Desk,

• Preparing documentation for all computer applications so the necessary support to users is facilitated.
