Summary

The Jamaica Social Investment Fund is funded by soft loans and grants from regional and international funding agencies. JSIF’s major source of funding is the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank). The GOJ is also an equally important source of funding for the JSIF as it has been instrumental in negotiating loans and grants with regional and international agencies and providing counterpart funding for these agreements. As of February 23, 2011, the GOJ has provided JM$ 2, 612297, 442.00 towards the financing of sub projects and administrative expenditure.

 

Beneficiary communities also contribute to the cost of their projects in the form of cash or kind. As of February 2011, the value of their contributions towards JSIF projects within their communities, stands at JM$ 258290, 343.00.
