Away with those pit latrines in schools! Reid says they are to go this year

Education Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, has indicated that the ministry will be providing 69 schools locally that have pit latrines, with new and modern bathrooms facilities this year.
In addressing the nation on Sunday ahead of the beginning of the new school term, Senator Reid said the ministry will be partnering with the Jamaica Social Investment Fund JSIF), Food for the Poor and other non-profit organsations in the drive for modern bathroom facilities in all schools island-wide.
