The Ministry of Education’s mission is: to provide a system, which secures quality education for all persons in Jamaica and achieves effective integration of education and cultural resources in order to optimise individual and national development
From its inception the JSIF has worked very closely with the Ministry of Education, because a high percentage of the projects undertaken is the construction or rehabilitation of educational facilities. Before the JSIF Board of Directors approves funding for a project the Ministry has to give a no objection to the work that will be undertaken and also to confirm that the Ministry recognizes that the institution to be assisted meets the standards as set out by the MOE.
Under the Hurricane Dean Emergency Recovery Loan Agreement a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the JSIF and the Ministry of Education for the implementation of activities to be funded by this Loan Agreement.
