The Jamaica Community Access Point Conference (JA-CAN) was put on by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Telecommunications and UNESCO/ICT4D Jamaica. The aim of the conference, themed: 'Igniting and Sustaining Community Development in the 21st Century, was to bring together persons and organizations that have been operating community-based centres, or involved in community development to share experiences, and to explore opportunities for networking.
