Public Safety Enhancement and Capacity Building

COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING AND PUBLIC AWARENESS

The sub-component will facilitate a series of capacity building activities for community-based organizations (CBOs) in project areas. Training for CBOs in capacity building in Knollis will include

• The objectives/goals of social participation
• Financial management skills
• Fundraising
• Community-based contracting
• Community-based crime and violence prevention
• Situational crime and violence prevention
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Training to perform routine operation and maintenance of basic infrastructure

This subcomponent will also facilitate a series of social marketing and public awareness campaigns aimed at improving awareness of the importance of sustainable use and management of project service and infrastructure, informing residents of project activities and fostering participation and behaviour.
