SUMMER CAMP 2010 – CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) through funding from the European Union and the Government of Jamaica invites Community Based Organisations (CBOs) to apply for funding of Summer Camps through the Grants of Low Amount (GOLA) Scheme.

 

Eligible CBOs must:

  • be a legally registered CBO in Jamaica
  • have been in operation for at least six months
  • be engaged in providing capacity building and/or development support services to communities
  • apply using the GOLA Summer Camp application package available at the JSIF and SDC offices OR on the JSIF, and European Union (EU) websites: www.jsif.org, and www.deljam.ec.europa.eu

The proposals must be for camps that satisfy these requirements:

  • Targeting children, adolescents and/or youth ages 4 – 24 years old
  • Targeting beneficiaries living in any of the inner-city communities listed below:

  • Have an admission policy that is not based on religion, skin colour or political affiliation
  • Camps must include a structured and varied programme that is activity-based with exposure to new environments and a focus on Conflict Resolution as a social skill
  • Specific emphasis must be placed on facilitating exposure to new environments that encourage learning and creativity
  • The maximum grant award from the JSIF per CBO will be JMD 1,000,000.
  • CBOs must contribute at least 10% of the total cost of the camp,
  • Implementation period is during August 1 – August 31, 2010 ONLY

Application Deadline: Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

 

Interested applicants for the Summer Camp Programme are cordially invited to an Application Information session on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the JSIF office, 2nd floor between 10.00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Please note that participants must pre-register for the workshop by contacting the JSIF’s  Officer, Ms. Martia Sparks at extension 264 by Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
