MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION

This sub-component will initiate and manage mediation initiatives in communities that experience chronic or periodic gang conflict or feuding. This will support tested mediation and conflict management interventions currently being implemented in Jamaica to broker ceasefires and build confidence between rival gang factions. Within the context of Passmore Town, these actions will include:

• Establish community code of conduct
• Form and supervise conflict mediation groups
• Peace building meetings
• Train and certify community residents as mediators to resolve conflicts
• Conflict resolution and anger management sessions with community and individuals
• Train and build capacity in mediation, dispute resolution and conflict management at the community level
